Notes
Whitehead was an Englishman who served in the Royal Navy from 1905 to 1927 when he appears to have arrived in Australia. He gave his occupation as a 'handyman' at Canberra Girls Grammar on the 1935 electoral roll. He died on 23 November 1942 at HMAS Lonsdale, a Royal Australian Navy training establishment in Port Melbourne, and was buried in Williamstown General Cemetery.
