About the ACT Memorial
The Memorial has two parts: the physical Memorial, located opposite Civic Square on London Circuit; and this web site, containing a database of names and information about the people honoured by the Memorial. The Memorial was dedicated on 10 August 2006 by the ACT Chief Minister, Mr Jon Stanhope MLA. It is a place for contemplation, reflection, awareness, commemoration, gatherings and ceremony. Information about Memorial events can be obtained from the Legislative Assembly Ceremonial Officer on telephone 6205 0192. This website contains a database of people associated with the ACT who served Australia in war, warlike operations, peace-keeping missions or on official humanitarian missions. If you consider that you, a family member, or someone you know should be included on the ACT Memorial, data can be provided on-line using the 'Nominate' link at the top of this page or by writing to the ACT Heritage Library at the Woden Library Building, Cnr Furzer and Corinna Streets, Phillip ACT 2606.
