Notes

Whatman married Jean Murray of 'Kurrumbene'. He died on 9 January 2007 and is buried in Woden Cemetery. He served in New Guinea for a year at the end of the war. He was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1981 for his meritorious service in the Public Service and for his role in the administration of Australian Rules football in Canberra.
