Notes
Ward served in Vietnam with No.9 Squadron from 23 April 1968 to 1 April 1969 and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service. In 1968 he landed his helicopter in a confined space to rescue the crew of an American gunship that had been shot down by the Vietcong in Phuoc Tuy province.
