Notes
Trist enlisted in the army in June 1942 (though he was attested in Canberra on 20 April 1942) and was attached to the 14th Infantry Training Battalion when he was discharged on 6 November 1942. He enlisted the following day in the RAAF and trained as a pilot in Canada. He joined 460 Squadron in August 1944 in Lincolnshire, England flying a Lancaster bomber in 31 sorties. He was commissioned in the RAF in December 1944. He died on 13 August 2008.
