Notes

A mechanic by trade, Kelly served as a Lance Corporal with the 310 Light Aid Detachment in the Northern Territory from 1943 to 1945. LAD units belong to the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and were responsible for the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. He was still living in his home in Donaldson Street, Braddon when he died on 30 May 1978 at Canberra Hospital. Kelly was buried at Woden Cemetery.
