Ian Condon, the older brother of (Gordon) Leigh Condon, was a member of the 1st Canberra Scout Troop and completed his leaving certificate at Canberra High in 1961. He was accepted into the Officer Cadet School at Portsea and graduated in June 1962. Condon served in Vietnam with Headquarters, 5 Company Royal Australian Army Service Corps from 3 December 1970 until 2 December 1971.
