Notes
Bondfield was a World War 1 veteran of Gallipoli, Sinai and Palestine who became a soldier settler at Charnwood in 1922. He married Edith Wright, the grand daughter of James Wright who established 'Lanyon' in the 1830s, in 1922 and captained the Hall rugby league team to a premiership in 1927. He sold his property in 1930 and moved to Queanbeyan. Although the nominal roll gives his place of birth as Queanbeyan, Bondfield was born in Sydney in 1894. Bondfield Street in Gungahlin is named after him.
