Notes
Ayrton arrived in Canberra in 1913 to work as a clerk with the Department of Home Affairs. He was the first recorded patient at the Canberra Hospital and served in World War 1. He returned to Canberra in 1934 and worked in the Accounts Branch of the Department of Interior, retiring in 1954. His son Roy also served in World War 2. Ayrton died on 27 April 1978 at the Repatriation General Hospital, Concord.
