Notes
Jack Ayres enlisted in Canberra in September 1941 in the CMF with the 18th Field Ambulance until 7 November 1941 when he enlisted in the AIF with the 2/2 Field Ambulance. Ayres served in New Guinea from February to September 1943 and from December 1944 to December 1945 in the Aitape - Wewak region. Before leaving for New Guinea, Ayres married Lesley Maguire. He died at home on 31 October 1987.
