Notes
Bennett entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon in March 1914 and graduated early, along with the rest of his class, in April 1916. He arrived in England with the 11th Machine Gun Company in July 1916. He went to France in November 1916 and from May 1917 onwards spent time in Staff roles. He was promoted to Captain in October 1917. In July 1919 he was appointed as aide de camp to Sir John Monash. He died in Sydney on 14 December 1963 aged 67 years.
