Notes

McKenzie entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon on 7 March 1912 and was a member of the guard of honour at the naming ceremony at Canberra on 12 March 1913. He graduated early, along with the rest of his class, on 2 November 1914 and was appointed as a Lieutenant in the 9th Light Horse Brigade. McKenzie landed on Gallipoli with his unit in May 1915 and was transferred to the 3rd Light Horse Brigade Headquarters in early August 1915. He was promoted to Captain shortly afterwards and was evacuated form Gallipoli in December 1915. McKenzie served in the Canal Zone, Sinai and Palestine being appointed as Brigade Major with the 4th Light Horse Brigade in February 1917 and serving in Staff positions with both the Imperial Mounted Corps and the Desert Mounted Corps before returning to Australia June 1919. McKenzie served in World War 2 and retired from the army on 25 April 1947. He died on 11 May 1948.
