Notes

Brayshaw came from the Bobeyan district in the southern ACT and served with the 3rd Battalion (militia) on the Kokoda Track from 5 September 1942 until 26 September 1942 when he was evacuated with chronic bronchitis. 3 Battalion were involved in the defence of Ioribaiwa and Imita ridges up until then. After recovering, he served with the 40th Battalion in the Northern Territory. He married Elsie Dunkerton in Cooma on 28 March 1944 and they lived in Berridale. Brayshaw died in Wagga Wagga on 11 June 1981 aged 62 years and is buried in Tumut NSW.
