Notes

Sid Hall was born in 1894 and lived in Hall. He served initially with the 1st Battalion but transferred to the 1st Pioneer Battalion in September 1916. He was wounded on 6 May 1917 during the Second Battle of Bullecourt and invalided to the Canadian General Hospital in England in July 1917 with a fractured femur and gun shot wound to the left thigh. He returned to Australia and was discharged medically unfit on 9 August 1918. He worked as a steward/cook at the Royal Military College, Duntroon from February 1920 to March 1931. Hall married Dora Hollingsworth (who was also from Hall) in 1920, later became a ranger with the Department of Interior and lived in Ainslie with his family. He died on 15 November 1953 at Canberra Hospital, aged 59. He is buried in the ex-service personnel portion of Woden Cemetery.

Description - height 5 feet 6½ inches, weight 140 pounds, chest 35 inches, blue eyes, fair complexion, brown hair, Methodist.
