Notes

No service file because the full identity of Berry is unknown. An 'A. Berry' lived in the Ginninderra area, played for the Ainslie Cricket Club and his name appears on the Ainslie Cricket Club Roll of Honor. He also played soccer for Gininderra (Ginninderra) and in late 1914 helped raise funds for the Gininderra Red Cross. The CWA manuscript refers to him as 'Alexander Berry' and as some of the members were married to men who knew him and played sport with him presumably this is his correct name. The reports concerning the Ainslie Cricket Club suggest that Berry was the first player to enlist (in late 1915).
