Notes
Unwin married Mary McCullough of Canberra on 10 December 1932 at the Baptist Church, Canberra. He worked at the Government Printing Office in Kingston. He was posted to 9 Battalion in Goulburn after enlisting but was transferred to 1 Australian Corps Ammunition Park in Dubbo a few months later. He served in the Middle East from January 1941 to March 1942 when he embarked in Suez, Egypt to return home. In October 1941 he had been graded a class II cook and he was posted to the Australian Army Service Cooking and Catering School at Geelong where he served for the remainder of the war. He later lived in O'Connor and died on 16 April 1977.
