Notes
Zarew was a National Serviceman who served in Vietnam from 1 April 1968 until 28 February 1969 with 1 Royal Australian Regiment. Based at Nui Dat in Phuoc Tuy province, 1RAR was deployed north of Saigon as part of Operation Toan Thang to block the movement of the North Vietnamese Army (NVA) following the Tet offensive. It arrived at Fire Support Base Coral on 12 May 1968. FSB Coral was attacked several times by the NVA until it was closed on 6 June. The Canberra Times shows an image of Zarew and Martin Bink on an exercise with the 3rd Royal NSW Regiment CMF in 1966.
