Notes
Young was a veteran of World War 2 and served in Korea with the 3rd Battalion on two tours; the first from 11 July 1951 to 5 June 1952 and the second from 2 June 1953 to 3 June 1954.
The caption of the AWM photograph shows Young moving camp and carrying "his native bedside table, a package of C rations, bedding, cooking and eating utensils, and a Chinese rifle with a spare bandolier full of rounds and a couple of hand grenades". It notes that "Cpl Young has waxed the ends of his moustache".
