Notes

Humphries served in Vietnam with 1 Australian Reinforcement Unit from 17 September 1969 to 7 October 1969 and then with the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment from 8 October 1969 to 17 November 1969. According to the Lyneham High School memorial plaque, Humphries was wounded while serving in Vietnam. The Canberra Times reported that it was a serious wound received in fighting in Bien Hoa Province. The AWM reference is to a film of soldiers, including Humphries, giving Christmas messages in 1969.
