Notes

Aspland grew up at Molonglo. He was a widower and worked as a mechanical loader driver for the Department of Interior when he enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps in 1942. He served with the corps until its disbandment at the end of September 1945. Aspland died in Wellington NSW on 1 June 1976.
