Notes
Archer served in the militia from 27 October 1942 until he enlisted in the AIF on 24 May 1943. He served in New Guinea with the 2/9 Battalion just after the Ramu Valley campaign. He returned to Australia in May 1944 and was hospitalised with malaria. In May 1945 he and his unit were sent to Morotai in the Dutch East Indies and from there landed at Balikpapan in Borneo on 1 July 1945. Archer died on 25 May 1975 and is buried in the ex-service's portion of Woden Cemetery.
