Notes
Knight was in the Territory when he enlisted at Duntroon in April 1917. He served with the Home Service at the Duntroon Officer Training School and later in the Sydney region from July 1917 onwards before enlisting in the AN&MEF in August 1918 and being posted to Rabaul and Kokopo in New Guinea. He had served in the Cycle Corps in 1916 but was discharged medically unfit with defective vision caused two years previously at Balmain where he had worked on the docks. By August 1916 he had lost all vision in his left eye.
