Notes
Eather entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon in February 1915 and graduated at the end of 1917 when he was commissioned as a Lieutenant in a Special Draft of RMC graduates which arrived in England in April 1918. He trained as an engineer but did not see front line service, returning to Australia in March 1919 suffering pneumonia. He served in World War 2 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Australian Staff Corps.
