Notes
Nurse entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon on 12 March 1914 and graduated on 3 April 1916. He was appointed a Lieutenant the following day and embarked for England in May 1916 as a Lieutenant with the 29th Battery, 8th Field Artillery Brigade. He served in France and Belgium with the 7th Field Artillery Brigade through 1917 and was sent to Egypt in an administrative role in July 1918. Nurse served with the Australian Staff Corps in World War 2 and retired from the army in 1951 with the rank of Brigadier. He died on 4 June 1981.
