Notes

Schrader was a member of the guard of honour from the Royal Military College, Duntroon at the naming ceremony at Canberra on 12 March 1913. He was removed from RMC in December 1913 for unsatisfactory progress in his studies and then joined the Royal Australian Field Artillery before enlisting in the AIF in October 1915. He embarked from Australia as a Lieutenant with the 17th Battery, 6th Field Artillery Brigade in November 1915 but served as a Captain with the 18th Battery from April 1916. He commanded the 21st Battery of the 22nd Field Artillery Brigade as a temporary Major from January 1917 but a few months later it was recommended that he be withdrawn "from a fighting unit as he had completely lost his nerve and cannot be utilised and that he cannot withstand the strain". Schrader returned to Australia in July 1917 and resigned his commission the following January.

After leaving RMC Schrader played Australian Rules football for the University club in the VFL. In 1930 he played in two first class cricket matches for Victoria. He died in Melbourne on 10 June 1980 aged 86 years.
