Notes

Moore entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon on 9 March 1913 and was graduated early on 28 June 1915. He left Australia as a Lieutenant with the 14th reinforcements to the 12th Battalion in February 1916 and joined the unit in April 1916 in France. In July 1916 the 12th Battalion joined the battle at Pozières and Moore was soon promoted to Captain. During a German bombardment Moore was wounded in the head and suffered a fractured skull. Loose pieces of bone and a piece of shell were removed in an operation at the 34th Casualty Clearing Station. During his recovery he suffered fits and twitching limbs and he returned to Australia in February 1917.

Description - height 5 feet 10 inches, weight 168 pounds, chest 35-39½ inches, fresh complexion, grey eyes, dark hair, Church of England.
