Notes
Meadows began working as a storeman at the Royal Military College on 16 September 1912. He had served with the Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) before arriving in Australia and was called-up for duty on 12 August 1914 when World War 1 began. He embarked for England on 17 October 1914 and served with the RGA in France, Belgium and Italy and was mentioned in the London Gazette of 1 January 1916. After the war he was Secretary of the Duntroon sub-branch of the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League and joined the Commonwealth Public Service in November 1927. He also served in World War 2 and died in Sydney on 21 March 1942. His three sons, Frank, Jack and Eric, also served in World War 2.
