Notes
Miller was an Englishman who served under the name of John William Beaumont and it is that name by which he was known at the Royal Military College where he was a limber gunner with the Royal Australian Garrison Artillery. He embarked with the 5th reinforcements to the 36th Heavy Artillery Group in April 1916 and served with its 5th Battery in France during 1917 and 1918.
