Notes

Harley was a military staff clerk at the Royal Military College, Duntroon when he enlisted in 1917. He embarked with reinforcements to the 30th Battalion in May 1917 but served in AIF Headquarters in London and with the Graves Registration Detachment in France before returning to Australia in 1921. Electoral rolls show him working as a public servant at Duntroon in 1928. He later lived in Lane Cove and died in Sydney on 14 November 1984 aged 93 years.
