Notes

Stubbs enlisted three times, the first time on 15 August 1916. He was wounded at the Second Battle of Bullecourt in France in May 1917, whilst serving with the 17th Battalion, and returned home for discharge. He enlisted with the Home Service on 11 February 1918 and was employed as a guard at the Molonglo Internment Camp (modern day Fyshwick) from where he enlisted with the Special Service to escort prisoners of war back to Europe.

Description - height 5 feet 10¾ inches, weight 156 pounds, chest 37½ inches, medium complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, Presbyterian.
