Notes

Albert Oldfield was probably born at Majura even though his service file states his place of birth as Kiandra. He was a married farmer in the Captains Flat area when he enlisted in February 1917 at Queanbeyan. He embarked for Egypt in February 1917 but was hospitalised almost continuously for the next two years until he returned to Australia and was discharged medically unfit on 27 March 1919. Oldfield died in Goulburn on 10 August 1925.

Description - height 5 feet 6 inches, weight 145 pounds, chest 33½-36 inches, ruddy complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, Church of England, scars on his right shin and above left eyebrow.
