Notes

Hector McIntosh was born at 'Malcolm Vale', Majura. He enlisted in August 1918 at Queanbeyan, entered camp at Liverpool on 1 October 1918 and was discharged on 31 December 1918 as a consequence of the end of hostilities. He was a foundation member of the Canberra Rifle Club in 1914 and lived at 'Callum Brae' (Gaelic for Malcolm Vale) near Symonston after the war. He had been alloted Block 110G in the Jerrabomberra sub-division of the Federal Territory's soldier settlement scheme in 1921 but added neighbouring blocks during the 1920s to create 'Callum Brae'. In 1934 he sold the property and moved to 'Glendon' near Murrumbateman. He died on 18 April 1957 near Murrumbateman and is buried at Yass Cemetery. The Hector McIntosh Rifle Range is named after him. He also enlisted for service during World War 2.

Description - height 6 feet ½ inch, chest 39 inches, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, Presbyterian.
