Notes

Lodge worked as a mail contractor in the Uriarra district before enlisting. He served with the 55th Battalion in France from February 1917 but was shot in the shoulder when his unit attacked Doignies on the Bapaume-Cambrai road on 2 April 1917. Due to his injury he returned to Australia in November 1917 for discharge. Lodge moved to Sydney where he died on 1 July 1972.

Description - height 5 feet 8½ inches, weight 135 pounds, chest 30-33 inches, dark complexion, hazel eyes, light brown hair, Church of England, scar over appendix, top jaw required dental attention.
