Notes

Harry Landon was the school teacher at Mulligans Flat from 1910 to 1915. He was born in Bombala in 1889, was a foundation member of the Canberra Rifle Club and a prominent district cricketer with the Ainslie club, who enlisted on 28 September 1915 with his mate, Edward 'Johnny' Jackson.

He served as a Gunner in the 1st Field Artillery Brigade in France from January 1917 but was wounded in the leg near Ypres in October 1917. In May 1918 he was sent to the Royal Field Artillery Cadet School at St. Johns Wood. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant in December 1918 (when he returned to France) and to Lieutenant in March 1919. He contracted pneumonia in August 1919 and returned to Australia shortly thereafter.

Landon was discharged in October 1919 and went into partnership in 1920 with Jackson running a store in Berrima. However, he did not fully recover from pneumonia, dying on 3 May 1921 in Berrima. He was buried at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney.

Description - height 6 feet, weight 177 pounds, chest 34½ inches to 38 inches, fresh complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, Church of England.
