Notes

Athol Kilby was born at 'The Falls' at Parkwood, not far from Hall and enlisted with his brother Keith in Sydney on 12 June 1918. He left Australia on October 1918 reaching Suez, Egypt in mid November and was allotted to the 12th Light Horse Regiment. He returned to Australia in August 1919 and was discharged on 13 September 1919. He married in 1927 and farmed at 'Holmwood', just over the border in NSW. He and his brother Keith were also business partners and acquired several soldier settler leases in the Belconnen and Hall districts after the war. Kilby also served in World War 2. He died in September 1962.

Description - height 5 feet 10½ inches, weight 158 pounds, chest 34-37 inches, medium complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, Methodist.
