Evelyn Gallagher trained as a nurse including a stint at the 4th Australian General Hospital, Randwick. She enlisted on 13 June 1916 (with her niece Janet) and served for two years with the Australian Army Nursing Service in India before transferring to England in December 1918. She returned to Australia the following year and was discharged on 23 October 1919. Evelyn Gallagher died in 1950.
