Notes
Dorey came from Melbourne and enlisted for the first time on 21 January 1915 but was discharged medically unfit with varicose veins in the left leg. He enlisted for the second time on 5 August 1915 but was discharged medically unfit the following January with ingrown toenails on both big toes. Later in 1916 he was working as a groom at the Royal Military College, Duntroon when he enlisted for the third time at Queanbeyan on 31 January 1917. He served in Egypt from July 1917 with the 14th Light Horse Regiment and the Camel Corps before returning home in October 1919 and being discharged medically unfit. Dorey died near Melbourne in 1974 aged 79 years.
Description - height 5 feet 9¾ inches, weight 156 pounds, chest 35½ -37½ inches, medium complexion, blue eyes, dark brown hair, Catholic.
