Notes

Christie was living at the Bachelor Quarters in Acton and working as the postal assistant and telegraph operator at Canberra and Duntroon when he enlisted in August 1916. He served as a Sapper in the 4th Division Signal Company in France and Belgium from September 1917 until August 1919. He was suffering from post neurasthenia (otherwise known as shell shock or post traumatic stress disorder) when he was discharged in November 1919. Christie died on 9 May 1988 in Sydney.

Description - height 5 feet 8¼ inches, weight 142 pounds, chest 31½ - 34 inches, medium complexion, light brown eyes, brown hair, Catholic, scar below his mouth.
