Notes

Blyton was from Nimmitabel but reportedly working at Booroomba near Tharwa when he enlisted on 13 January 1916 with the Men from Snowy River route march. He served with the 1st Battalion from October 1916 on the Somme battlefield but the following month was hospitalised with mumps. He rejoined his unit before Christmas and was involved in the advance towards the Hindenburg Line in April 1917. On 9 April 1917 the 1st Battalion were attacking the Germans who occupied the village of Demicourt, to the south east of Bullecourt, when Blyton was killed in action.

Description - height 5 feet 8 inches, weight 152 pounds, chest 36-39 inches, fair complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair, Presbyterian, mole on inside right knee.
